DrupalCamp Nashville Farewell

Sun, 2010-03-14 08:11 -- dougvann

I'm in the hotel lobby waiting for the cab to take me to the airport for my 7:30am flight back home to Indy! I took an early flight to get home as fast as possible. I can't stand being away from my family.

This year was the inaugural DrupalCamp event for Nashville. Jaimie Meredith and his crew did a stellar job at pulling it off! From the awesome venue choice of Vanderbilt University to the excellent catered burritos for lunch and I can't forget the 2 WONDERFUL meals I had at South Street restaurant. Mmmm. Mmmm. I don't know why we can't have pork like this in Indianapolis, and if we do, some one better tell me where! :-)
[ok, now I'm at the terminal gate finishing this post!]

This is a quick post to get my Drupal-Intro slides up as I had promised my attendees I would do. These slides are from the 1st of 5 sessions I did.

I'll have to do a 2nd blog post about DrupalCamp Nashville later. suffice to say, I a blown away at how well these camps are run. I have been to camps on both coasts, the Midwest, and the South. I love running into the attendees who are just trying to figure out what Drupal is. There was no shortage of that at this camp. There were people from Vanderbilt University, local businesses and quite a few people who were out of work in another technology field and were there hoping to gain some marketable skills.

Alrighty... Plane boarding!!!

Generally speaking, blogging is good because anyone can start learning about Drupal cms and become heard, but it's bad because more and more people have a hard time communicating face to face and that's sort of dehumanizing us.
